Restricted Operator's Certificate for Marine VHF (w/ DSC & GMDSS endorsement)

Swiftsure is offering a Radio Operator's Certificate (ROC) course several times throughout the spring and winter seasons. This certificate is needed to legally operate a VHF marine radio. The two night course consists of one lecture night and one exam night. The ROC exam has both a written and a verbal component. The new course includes the endorsement for Digital Selective Calling (DSC) and the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS).

Arrangements can be made to self-study and write the ROC and/or DSC/GMDSS exam by calling Bob at 403-620-5812.

The dates for the examination for these courses are the same as for the PCOC examinations. You can sign up for both courses and write both examinations on the same night. Register for each course separately.
