Pleasure Craft Operator's Card
The Competency of Operators of Pleasure Craft Regulations require operators of pleasure craft fitted with a motor and used for recreational purposes to have proof of competency on board at all times.
As of September 2010 this is a compulsory certification.
The dates for this examination are the same as for the VHF operators examination. You can sign up for both courses and write both examinations on the same night. Register for each course separately.
Students who complete any of Swiftsure's Learn to Cruise courses can easily write the Pleasure Craft Operator's Card examination. The costs is included in the course tuition. For students not taking a Swiftsure course, the Operator's Card examination can be challenged after a review of Canada's boating laws and regulations.
